Our investment activities began in 2001, when our founders began making growth stage investments primarily focused on the U.S. market. Our current avatar took shape in 2004 when our two founders made a trip to India. What began as a two week economic tour resulted in a lasting partnership and the birth of Lighthouse as it is known today, India's leading middle market investor.

At the time, the firm consisted of Mukund, Sean and Boris. We hired our first employee in India in 2006, and have since grown to nearly one dozen people. Sachin joined the firm in 2007 and became a partner in 2008; and Brian (former CEO of 3i) joined as our Senior Advisor and Board Member in 2007.

We made our first investments in 2007. In 2008, we raised our first dedicated fund - India 2020, Limited. The approximately USD 100 million corpus is significantly invested, and we now have 10 portfolio companies to date.
