The firm initially provided consultancy services to foreign banks. However, in 2008, it embarked on a mission to extend business loans to micro-entrepreneurs in rural India.

The aim is to serve underserved and disadvantaged communities and promote financial inclusion. Over the years, Capital Trust has provided over a million loans through its extensive network of 300+ branches across 10 states in India.
